24 May Clematis Popping

The clematis are bursting into bloom in the most magnificent way. The one above is in my own garden. It gives weeks of interest because once the petals drop, the center turns into a wonderful fluffy Dr. Seuss looking pom pom.
And these stunners were on a terrace I was working on today. They look like they have Elizabethan ruffs on them. So beautiful!
